Bio

Clay Kame is originally from Grand Junction, Colorado.  Kame spent the previous 4 years as the Head Coach at Palisade High School, qualifying for the 4A states playoffs 3 of the 4 years. Kame also coached Track & Field in this time at Palisade HS, helping his basketball athletes focus on speed, agility, and explosive jumping. 

During his time as the Assistant Coach at Grand Junction HS they made it all the way to the 5A Colorado Sweet 16. Kame taught Physical Education for 7 years along with 2 years serving as a high school Academic Progress Monitor. 

Kame played all 4 years at Colorado Mesa University (Division II) after redshirting as a freshman, and by his senior year he was the team captain and lead the team in steals, second on the team in assists and had the highest three-point percentage.  During his freshman year they were Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions and birthed an NCAA Tournament appearance. Clay graduated with a B.A. in Kinesiology. 

In High School, Kame was a 3 sport athlete, competing in Football, Basketball and Track & Field. He had the opportunity to receive offers for both Football and Basketball to play in college, and chose the basketball route to follow in his family's footsteps. His dad and two sisters both played collegiate, with his youngest sister, Amy, played at the University of San Diego as well as overseas. 

Clay resides in Sarasota, Florida with his wife Bruna who also played basketball Colorado Mesa University. They enjoy the Sarasota beaches, mountain biking, paddle boarding and golfing.
